A simple grouping example
In standard Indian rummy, 5, 6 and 7 of hearts form a sequence because the ranks are consecutive and the suit is the same. Three 5s of different suits form a set. Build at least two sequences, including one pure sequence, then group the remaining cards for a valid declaration.
Review a proposed 13-card declaration
Check the pure sequence first, then the second sequence, then the groups containing the remaining cards. If a group seems wrong, identify whether the problem is a gap in ranks, a different suit or an incorrect set. This gives your next practice hand one clear learning target instead of treating every grouping mistake as the same problem.
Classic Teen Patti uses its own hand rankings. When switching to that entry, begin with those rankings rather than the rummy grouping example.
Count a 13-card arrangement without requiring four groups
A standard 13-card hand can use groups of different lengths. On paper, arrange 3♥, 4♥, 5♥, 6♥, 7♥ as one natural sequence; 8♣, 9♣, 10♣, J♣, Q♣ as another; and 2♠, 2♦, 2♥ as a set. The lengths add up to 5 + 5 + 3 = 13.
In this ordinary grouping example, no card is being used as a substitute joker. There are two natural sequences and a valid three-card set, with every physical card counted once. Checking the total as well as the groups helps you avoid assuming that a valid declaration must always look like four groups of three or four cards.
Separate a card’s rank from its rummy penalty value
Rummy Hero also names Teen Patti, so distinguish a ranking question from a points question. In standard Indian 13-card rummy scoring, an ace and a king each have a penalty value of 10, even though they are different ranks. Number cards 2–9 use their face values; jacks and queens also count as 10.
Write “rank” or “penalty points” beside the number you are comparing. That prevents a Teen Patti high-card idea from becoming a rummy score calculation. For an actual result, use the selected rummy format’s treatment of valid groups and ungrouped cards before adding penalties. A card value alone does not explain the whole hand score.
